Making Your Travels More Memorable

Traveling is an adventure waiting to come alive. It allows us to indulge in curiosity, partaking in new wonders and new facets of life perhaps we never knew existed. A single holiday trip can give you the freedom and flexibility that daily life does not allow. It matters little really where you go on holiday, it is all in what you make of it. Any holiday can be fascinating and spiritually rewarding giving you memories to last a life time.

Having those memories are truly what holidays are all about. The key to having the long lasting memories and believing every holiday was the best one yet truly starts before you ever leave home. A bit of research on your destination before you go will enable you to forge out in an exploration of little known shops and perhaps an open air theater production that is only advertised in the local paper. The key here is to be realistic. Before you embark, ask yourself what sort of experience you are hoping for? Do you want a quiet respite enabling you to commune with nature? Or are you looking for a step back into history wanting to see the sacredness of Stonehenge for yourself?

Taking the time to do a bit of research before you leave will ensure a memorable trip. For example, with the state of affairs the world is in, being flexible is a necessity if you are traveling to a location the government might suddenly restrict due to conflicts. You would not wish to go to Scotland without realizing the that the weather can sometimes be wet and cold so you will need proper attire.

The most memorable moments of a holiday are the ones that you don’t plan for. Taking the time out each day to have a 15 minute spiritual retreat within to re-energize yourself will allow you to be more in tune with the magical moments happening all around you verse a tired and weary traveler might miss the fantastic sunset or the small child playing in the puddles of the cobblestone road. Take your time to ramble rather than power walk when visiting a new place. Power walks are for exercise not for holidays. Rambling will allow you to listen, hear, smell, and see the different culture and sights that normal every day life precludes you from enjoying.

Choosing to try new foods in a place you are not familiar with can be exciting, but it can also be the reason your holiday is cut short. A bit of pre-planning before you leave can avoid this pitfall. Carry peppermint with you as it can help calm a stomach. Bring along a mint and chamomile tea for evenings. The mint will calm your stomach further while the chamomile with help you to get a good nights rest.

Simple pre-planning and preparing for a holiday trip can ensure that every memory available is captured. Simple items such as a leaf from a tree you sat beneath and watched the town’s rural life happen can keep the memories of your holiday alive for years to come. Collecting small items such as a leaf, a stone, a feather, or rare book can be transformed into a sentimental and memorable work of art when you return home. The magic will truly be in the journey you take.

Bright blessings,
